Joe Jackson Will Not Play Parent to Grandchildren
The saga of Michael Jackson continues as Joe Jackson has announced that he will not have a hand in raising the children of his deceased son. In a recent statement to the media Joe Jackson said “I have had a close family relationship with these grandchildren since their birth. I do visit the family residence from time to time and will continue to do so. However, I will not be involved in raising the grandchildren.”
The actual job of raising the grandchildren falls on the shoulders of Joe Jackson’s wife, Katherine Jackson. In his will, Michael awarded full custody and guardianship to his mother and asked that she be the one that raised his children in the event of his demise.
The statements from Joe Jackson have some wondering what his role will be. There is much speculation in the world surrounding his role. Considering several moves made by the father of the pop legend many believe that he is attempting to distance himself from the obligations of raising the children.
These reports are not just idle chatter to the press. Joe Jackson has filed his statements with a Los Angeles court, making it official that he will not help raise the grandchildren in any way.
The actual marital status of Katherine and Joe Jackson has become questioned. Katherine still contends that she and Joe are happily married and living together. However, she is said to be living in the former of residence of her son and raising his children.
This is not the first time that this sort of rumor started. On two separate occasions during their earlier married life Katherine filed for divorce, citing infidelity on the part of Joe. Both petitions were dropped eventually but their relationship continues to be one of mystery.
